Leeds United Women are looking to bounce back from an underwhelming domestic campaign.
Simon Wood‘s side missed out on promotion from the Women’s National League last season, finishing ten points behind top spot.
A dip in form after the Christmas break ultimately saw their chances of going up fall away, but they will be hoping to have better luck next season.
They have just watched Daniel Farke’s charges secure promotion to the Premier League, and that should give them a boost to try and get themselves over the line.

Leeds Women confirm Sanderson signing
Leeds have been active in the transfer market, in terms of both the men’s and women’s teams, so far this summer.

The Whites have now confirmed the signing of Brittany Sanderson from Huddersfield Town on their official X account (12 July).
The Elland Road side said that she comes with an “illustrious pedigree” as they announced the new addition.
Sanderson can help Leeds to push on
Wood’s side needs to put last season behind them and will be looking to remedy that next season.
The signing of Sanderson should help; she has notched 85 goals in 139 appearances in the division with the likes of Huddersfield and Halifax Town.

The midfielder is the second addition to Wood’s squad, with winger and full-back Chloe Dixon also joining the Peacocks.
Hopefully, the new signings can help the Bannister Prentice Stadium outfit climb into the Women’s Super League Two, sooner rather than later.
The recent expansion to the women’s game, announced by the Football Association, should give the LS11 outfit the motivation to push on and improve their standing, as well as watching their male counterparts go up to the top-flight.
It could be a make-or-break season for Wood; the new transfers mean that expectations will be high next time out, and whether he can handle that remains to be seen.
The 49ers Enterprises are clearly not scared to back the women’s team, but that backing needs to ensure success; otherwise, it is only a matter of time before they make changes.
