Leeds United could be set to lose Spain Under-21 international Mateo Joseph this summer.
Daniel Farke is keen to refresh his squad this summer, ahead of the West Yorkshire club’s first Premier League season since 2022/23.
The German has already overseen the welcome of several newcomers in recent weeks, including Gabriel Gudmundsson and Jaka Bijol.
But more signings are expected to arrive, and naturally, sales may have to be sanctioned in response.

Joseph eager for Betis move
One player who could leave Elland Road this summer is Joseph. The 21-year-old spent much of last season on the bench, often brought on as an impact sub.

First signed three years ago from Espanyol, the Spaniard has struggled to adapt to the English game and could be looking for a return to Spain this summer.
Real Betis are the club to have shown the most interest, and, according to Eldesmarque (July 12), the La Liga club have already agreed terms with Joseph.

Joseph has struggled to adapt at Leeds
The striker is Betis’ main option to strengthen their attacking options, and Joseph has put other offers on hold as he waits for an agreement to be found between the clubs.
All that remains is an agreement with Leeds, which makes the standoff rather strange given there is no future for Joseph at Elland Road.
Given Joseph’s eagerness to join the Spanish club, it appears that the move will eventually get over the line in the coming weeks.
Joseph departure will be a shame
Joseph has shown several moments of promise throughout his three years in West Yorkshire.
The forward’s brace against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge was one highlight, despite Leeds’ exit from the FA Cup on the night.
Last season, Joseph did show glimpses of talent, when he picked up two assists as Farke’s side won away against Sheffield Wednesday, for example.
But ultimately, the Spaniard has not yet demonstrated his readiness for the Premier League and a move away will likely benefit all parties.
