Arsenal man put on club’s scouting list as competition sought–Good relationship creates confidence

Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein is a potential target for Sevilla this summer as they target competition for Orjan Nyland.

That’s according to El Correo de Andalucia, who report that the good negotiations between Arsenal and Sevilla can facilitate an agreement for the goalkeeper.

Sevilla signed Albert Sambi Lokonga on loan from Arsenal last summer and that opened a pathway between the two clubs that can help with a pursuit of Hein.

They need a goalkeeper to challenge Nyland and Hein, who is in the final year of his deal at the Emirates and has a low salary that Sevilla believe can be afforded.

Arsenal do have an option to extend his deal by another year, and the current plan would be to sign him on loan ‘with an extended purchase’. The newspaper doesn’t make clear what that means, we assume it means a purchase option.

Arsenal would presumably want to protect themselves because even if they extend Hein’s contract this year, they still face the possibility of losing on a free in 2027 or letting him go cheap next summer if he departs on loan for a year.

For now, Sevilla just have him on their list, with the scouting team meeting with Antonio Cordón this weekend and putting the Arsenal man’s name on the table.
