West Ham are set to knock back an approach from Roma for Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd.
Reports from Italy suggest the Serie A club are preparing to move for the 29-year-old, but only on a loan basis—something West Ham have no interest in entertaining.
Aguerd has already informed the club of his desire to move on, following a successful loan spell at Real Sociedad last season. French side Marseille are also known to be admirers, but have so far been unable to match West Ham’s £20 million valuation.

The message was blunt: “We will only sell, NOT loan.”
West Ham will not sell Aguerd as easily as Kudus
Once again, West Ham have made it clear that unless a suitable offer arrives, Aguerd will be expected to stay and play for the club next season.
While Graham Potter is understood to be seeking a new left-sided central defender, he is also said to be open to integrating Aguerd into his first-team plans if no transfer materialises.
For now, it’s a firm stance from West Ham—one that could test how serious Roma or Marseille truly are about landing the experienced international.
