Manchester United have had a vast history of managers in their history and more recently in the last decade.

Louis van Gaal was appointed manager in July 2014, following the dismissal of David Moyes.

He arrived with a reputation for tactical brilliance and a history of success with other clubs, including Ajax, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich.

He managed Manchester United from 2014 to 2016, winning the FA Cup in 2016 and was sacked in May 2016, just two days after the final.

The club cited a need for a change in direction and a more attacking style of play as reasons for his dismissal.
