Roma have held new talks with West Ham United over defender Nayef Aguerd regarding a loan deal, but the Hammers are not open to such a proposal.
That’s [according to Gianluca di Marzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/roma-aguerd-calciomercato-west-ham-12-luglio-2025/), who reports that West Ham are currently refusing to let the Moroccan defender depart on loan again this summer.
Aguerd spent last season on loan with Real Sociedad, where he proved to be a big hit and a regular in their team throughout the campaign. They, though, have elected to not make the move a permanent one and so Aguerd has returned to West Ham instead.
He does not appear to be a part of their plans moving forwards, though, and he is expected to move on at some point in this window.
Roma have shown an interest as they plan a big summer rebuild for new manager Gian Piero Gasperini, but DI Marzio reports talks are not going to plan as yet.
The Italian side want a loan deal and recently started talks with West Ham on that front, but the Hammers are not open to this option. It seems they would prefer a permanent exit for the 29-year-old this summer.
Whether Roma are willing to offer a permanent move, remains to be seen. At the moment they appear to be focused on a loan, which West Ham aren’t interested in sanctioning.
