Mark Hughes's Blues took on a strong Magpies side in Tyneside in their second pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 12
Carlisle United were defeated 1-0 by Scottish Premiership outfit Motherwell in their pre-season opener last week.
Sean Longstaff opened the scoring for the hosts on the 25th minute, beating an unsighted Gabe Breeze with an effort from distance.
Elliot Embleton would create two chances from set-pieces for the Blues in the first 45 minutes, however, neither nestled in the back of Nick Pope's goal.
In the second-half, both sides rotated heavily, with Newcastle fielding an eleven that featured top-flight stars such as Joelinton, Harvey Barnes, Sven Botman, and Fabian Schar.
The Magpies' second-half side also featured Cumbrian Joe White.
Newcastle would add to their advantage throughout the second period, with strikes from Joelinton, Jacob Murphy, and Ben Parkinson securing the victory for the Toon.
Carlisle United take on AFC Fylde in their next pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 19.
