Newcastle United remain admirers of Hugo Ekitike

Newcastle United could make a move for Hugo Ekitike this summer having attempted to sign him twice over the past three years.

Ekitike was a target for , who first tried to sign him first in January 2022 and again in the summer transfer window later that year. They were confident of agreeing a deal for the French forward after reaching a deadline-day agreement with Reims, but the striker turned down a move Tyneside in order to join Paris Saint-Germain.

The move was orignially a loan spell in the 2022/23 campaign, before it was amde permanent the following summer. However, he struggled to make an impact in the French capital.

Last summer, he made the switch to Eintracht Frankfurt and his performances have attracted interest from several potential suitors. Newcastle have been linked, along with Arsenal, Al-Hilal and Al Qadsiah.

Despite speculation linking Isak with a move away from St. James' Park, any Ekitike transfer will not change the club's position regarding the Swedish international's future. He is not for sale.
