After proving he could light it up overseas and leading his squad in scoring, former Boston Celtics point guard Carsen Edwards is packing his bags once again. This time, he’s saying goodbye to Bayern Munich Basketball and looking for his next opportunity and word is, it could take him down south.
For Edwards, who’s already bounced from the NBA to Europe and back, this is just another chapter in a basketball journey that’s far from over. Where he ends up next is anyone’s guess, but one thing’s for sure: he’s not done making buckets yet.
After the news broke that Devin Booker’s heading to Olimpia Milano, Bayern Munich fans didn’t have much time to catch their breath before learning two more key guys are moving on too. The club announced that Nick Weiler-Babb and Edwards are both leaving to sign with other EuroLeague teams.
But the rumor mill’s already buzzing and word is Weiler-Babb is set to join Anadolu Efes Istanbul. He had a strong season, averaging 8.2 points, 4.9 assists and 4.1 rebounds and even snagged EuroLeague Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Edwards was a scoring machine this past year, putting up 20.4 points and 3.3 assists a game across 35 games. So yeah, Bayern’s definitely saying goodbye to some serious talent.

Carsen Edwards played two seasons for the Boston Celtics from 2019-21 but has found success in the EuroLeague with Bayern Munich. Now he's looking for a new team once again.

For Edwards, word is he’s expected to keep his European adventure rolling with Virtus Bologna. Hewas an absolute force this past year, even earning a spot on the All-EuroLeague First Team for 2024-25. That's pretty impressive for someone who’s quickly made a name for himself as one of the league’s top scorers. Virtus fans should be pretty excited to see what he brings to the table next.
