Everton have already learnt just how competitive a summer transfer market this is turning out to be.

Premier League clubs across the land are spending considerable sums of money already, and David Moyes wants to see more of this on Merseyside.

After landing Carlos Alcaraz early on, Everton have finally added another signing, Thierno Barry.

Moyes is pushing for more signings to follow Barry through the doors at Finch Farm.

The 62-year-old would like to see the ball keep rolling given the club jet off to the United States at the end of the month for their pre-season trip.

Coming up against some of their Premier League rivals in the market, Everton are now looking to steal a march on West Ham United for one specific target.

It is believed Everton’s project under The Friedkin Group has left a strong impression following the initial talks held.

The Blues are looking to beat the likes of West Ham to the signature of McAtee.

West Ham will have some money to spend now following the sale of Mohammed Kudus to their London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the Friedkins are backing Moyes with sufficient funds in what is their first summer window as the club owners.

Everton face real competition to land McAtee

Alongside West Ham, it is also believed Nottingham Forest are showing an interest in signing McAtee.

Much like West Ham, Forest have also received a cash influx through the recent sale of Anthony Elanga, and could receive more if Morgan Gibbs-White is sold.

Everton hope their new stadium will attract new players, and it could certainly be a major pull over the likes of the Hammers.

Although McAtee is still a young prospect, landing him would certainly be a major coup for the Toffees this summer.
