Manchester United might not have completed as much transfer business as they would have liked to in the summer window, but there is still plenty of time left to get deals done. Ruben Amorim wanted to have as many new signings in place for their return to pre-season earlier in the week, with Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon the only senior additions to his side.
United still hope to finalise the transfer of Brentford ace Bryan Mbeumo before they embark on their summer tour of the United States, while they face Leeds in their first friendly fixture next week. Five players have been granted an extended leave to facilitate potential exits, with Amorim well aware player sales will be required to fund any further transfer business.
Even after they add Mbeumo to their squad, United hope to sign a striker and a central midfielder, while they are also expected to add a new back-up goalkeeper to challenge Andre Onana. It might seem like a lot of work to do, but here is the dream line up United could still hope to achieve by the end of the transfer window.
