'As soon as possible': 'Excellent' Crystal Palace star has just opened the door to summer exit

Crystal Palace have a tough job on their hands keeping their best players ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Oliver Glasner’s side enjoyed an incredible season last time around as the Eagles lifted the FA Cup for the first time and secured a place in Europe for the upcoming campaign, which now looks to be the UEFA Europa Conference League after Crystal Palace were kicked out of the Europa League this week.

Their performances have attracted some of the biggest clubs in Europe to their players, with the likes of Marc Guehi being linked to Liverpool, while the situation of Palace’s star man, Eberechi Eze, is being monitored closely by top clubs in England.

Losing the duo would be a big blow to Glasner, and the Austrian will be worried further, as one of his key players has just opened the door to leaving Selhurst Park this summer.

Daniel Munoz wants to play for the best teams in the world

Crystal Palace will not want to lose any of their best players ahead of the 25/26 campaign, as they will want the best squad possible to push for whatever European trophy they will be competing for.

A move for Eze to Arsenal is a strong possibility, but other than that, the Eagles will make it hard for clubs to sign their players, which is bad news for Daniel Munoz, who has opened the door to an exit at Selhurst Park during an interview in Colombia.

“I want to play for the best teams in the world, but they haven’t spoken to me directly,” Munoz told Win Sports TV via the Mirror. “I dream and work every day to achieve it, and I hope it can happen as soon as possible. I hope it’s in this window, but if not, I’m very happy at Crystal Palace.”

Having turned 29 this year, there is not much time for the right-back to achieve his dream, although there is interest in the Colombian defender ahead of the 25/26 campaign.

Sources have told TBR Football that Spanish clubs have an admiration for Munoz ahead of the new season; however, Crystal Palace have no intention of letting him leave.

Daniel Munoz impressed Alan Shearer last season

Munoz was a key element of Crystal Palace’s success last season as the Colombian was a nightmare for defences in the Premier League, with the 29-year-old crucial to how the Eagles attacked teams down the right.

The defender featured 46 times in all competitions for Palace, producing six goals and eight assists, and after the Colombia international’s goal in a 2-1 win over Brighton in April, Alan Shearer heaped praise on the full-back.

“Excellent up-and-down the right flank, and scored the winning goal. Another impressive performance,” Shearer said about Munoz on the Premier League’s website when including the Crystal Palace star in his Team of the Week.

With a contract at Selhurst Park until 2028, fans of the London club will hope to see Munoz shine at their club for many years to come, but unfortunately, that does not seem to be the right-back’s intention.
