Whether Thierno Barry will make his Everton debut vs Accrington Stanley as new hint emerges

Everton have sealed their first piece of major transfer business this summer with Thierno Barry.

The focus on Merseyside has been to provide David Moyes with some attacking quality.

Moyes was desperate to sign Barry from Villarreal, and the 62-year-old played his part in convincing the young striker to join.

Everton are now back in action for pre-season training, with the players who have returned being put through their paces.

The players have been operating in Scotland in a training camp organised by Moyes, with the Toffees preparing for their opening friendlies of the summer next week.

Moyes has been left impressed with Beto during the training camp in Scotland, but fans will be wanting to know whether their new £27m signing will be playing against Accrington Stanley on Tuesday.

Thierno Barry will not make Everton debut vs Accrington Stanley

Barry flew into Merseyside from Miami earlier this week to complete his move to the Blues.

It has been a busy summer for the 22-year-old who made it to the Euros semi-final whilst representing France U21s.

Taking to Instagram, the new Everton striker has shared an update ahead of the game against Accrington Stanley next week.

Clearly, the youngster will not be part of Moyes’ selection on Tuesday evening for the trip to the Wham Stadium.

Barry shared a story on his Instagram account, showing the striker to have resumed his summer break in Mykonos, Greece.

Considering he spent just a week on his summer break before visiting Finch Farm to seal his move, it is certainly well deserved.

But, it is also worth noting that he is still keeping up his fitness in the Greek heat.

Beto will lead Everton forward this summer, but Barry will likely join up with the squad in time to return to the United States for the Summer Series.

Beto will not lose Everton starting spot without a fight

With Barry coming through the door this summer, Benfica have shown interest in Beto, with the striker’s position coming under threat.

However, it seems the arrival of the 22-year-old has only lit the fire in Beto, who has shone in pre-season training.

Given Barry will be joining up slightly later than the rest of the Everton squad, Beto is going to be handed a big opportunity to claim his spot in the starting XI.

Moyes was impressed with Beto last season, and he could head into the new season with the striker role as his to lose.
