New star Steelers playmaker gives his true reaction to playing in Pittsburgh: ‘Checks all the…

New Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Jonnu Smith is excited to play with his new team after a trade sent Smith to the Steelers last week.

Joining the Zach Smackz Show, Smith broke down why he is excited to play for the Steelers, and Mike Tomlin and Aaron Rodgers are at the front of those reasons.

“You check all the boxes,” Smith said. “What more do you want? You basically check all the boxes. You’re going up there, like you said, to a historic franchise with a historic coach, with a historic QB, you know what I’m saying? If God ain’t have his hands on that, you know what I mean? To be in that position, I’m humbled, I’m honored. I’m ready to get up there and get to work.”

In addition to those pieces, Smith gets to join his former offensive coordinator, Arthur Smith, in Pittsburgh for the season, something he is looking forward to with the Steelers.

“I’m in a situation where I’m appreciated,” Smith said on The Terron Armstead Podcast.“You’re always going to go where you’re most valued and appreciated.”

Smith set career-highs last year with 88 receptions for 884 yards and eight touchdowns in the Dolphins offense. All of those marks were franchise records.

During his years with Arthur, Jonnu Smith progressively became a more prominent part of the offense, putting up consecutive 400-yard seasons with Arthur Smith as the offensive coordinator.
