Manchester United secured the signature of Wolves forward, Matheus Cunha, after activating the Brazilian’s release clause and South American wingback Diego Leon who is expected to enter the first team squad picture this summer.
Despite the two new signings, the club have struggled to sign several of their top targets, Ruben Amorim reportedly contacted his former Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres over a potential reunion between the two.
Gyokeres has since declined United’s approach and looks set to join their Premier League rivals, Arsenal.
As well as Gyokeres, Ruben Amorim has been hoping to sign a new goalkeeper following a series of mistakes last season from Andre Onana.
The Senegalese goalkeeper was offered to Monaco but the French club declined the chance to sign Onana.
Onana is not the only player United have tried to offload this season as five players are looking to depart Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Alejandro Garnacho are all expected to leave the club this summer with the clubs hierarchy trying their best to find clubs for the five United stars.
If they were to leave United, that would be a total of eight Old Trafford departures following the retirement of Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen’s contracts expiring.
With Christian Eriksen’s contract expiring it has left Manchester United’s midfield a little lighter in depth than Amorim would be hoping for.
The Portuguese boss is now reportedly looking to strengthen his midfield and buy a backup for Uruguayan midfielder, Manuel Ugarte.
If Ugarte was to get injured throughout the season, United do not have a similar ball-winning midfielder to replace the current United star.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United now want to sign Barcelona midfielder, Marc Casado as Ugarte’s backup.
It is expected that Barcelona would demand a significant transfer fee with the youngsters release clause reportedly set at a staggering €100 million.
Due to the substantial fee, Manchester United would need to receive a major transfer fee to be able to accommodate such an offer.
A deal seems to be unlikely due to the Red Devils current financial position and the fact the Spaniard’s preference is to stay at Barcelona.
However, United fans will be happy to see their club having aspirations of completing even more deals during this summer’s transfer window and be optimistic about the future arrivals ahead.
