Manchester United are continuing to consider options to solve their striker problem, with Rasmus Hojlund set to be replaced as the club’s first-choice striker.

The Denmark international has struggled to perform consistently over the last two seasons, with a 21-game goal drought last season.

As such, Ruben Amorim is keen to have a reliable striker at his disposal as soon as possible to integrate into his pre-season training and tour of the States.

So far this season, a lot of strikers have been looked at but are seemingly set to join other clubs, all of which can offer European football.

Galatasaray are looking to retain Victor Osimhen by making his loan move permanent, Liverpool are pushing to sign Hugo Ekitike, and Arsenal are seemingly front-runners for Viktor Gyokeres.

As such, The Red Devils are having to turn to a new set of options, including Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and Fiorentina’s Moise Kean.

However, reports from France are now suggesting that United are taking an interest in Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.

French journalist Nabil Djellit has reported that United have contacted Chelsea and made enquiries for Jackson over a potential move this summer.

The 24-year-old joined Chelsea from Villarreal back in 2023, having come through the club’s academy, with the two clubs agreeing a move for around £32 million.

Since then Jackson’s made 81 appearances for the London-based side, grabbing 30 goals and 12 assists, even grabbing a goal in Chelsea’s recent 4-1 UEFA Conference League final victory over Real Betis to lift the trophy.

In comparison, across the same two year timespan, Hojlund’s grabbed 26 goals and six assists in 95 games, showing that Nicolas Jackson would be an upgrade on the Denmark international.

However, United are up against both Aston Villa and Napoli who have also made enquiries into the £60 million striker.

Unfortunately, due to the club’s finances, United will need to make sales before any more new signings are made, giving their competitors a head start to Jackson’s signature.
