Bucks to sign former first round pick Cole Anthony, per reports

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WMTV) - The Milwaukee Bucks have been busy this offseason and have added yet another big name to the roster. Memphis Grizzlies guard Cole Anthony intends to sign with the Bucks, and has agreed on a contract buyout with the Grizzlies organization, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Anthony was the 15th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and has spent his five seasons in the NBA with the Orlando Magic. He was a part of the trade that sent Desmond Bane to the Magic, but did not spend any of the 2024-25 season with the Grizzlies.

The 6′2 guard averaged a total of 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in the 2024-25 season. His starting role with the Magic began to dwindle in the 2022-23 season, despite starting all 65 games played and averaging 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in the 2021-22 season.

Overall, the 25-year-old has averaged 12.5 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds in his five years with the Magic.

The deal is not done just yet as Anthony has not officially cleared waivers, but once those are cleared, the buyout is agreed upon and he should be well on his way to Fiserv Forum.
