Bryan Mbeumo could be close to joining Man United after latest update

Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo is expected to arrive at United before the squad goes on tour, according to .
A breakthrough in negotiations is expected soon as United prepare to welcome Mbeumo, weeks after initiating talks with Brentford.
At this stage, however, it's unclear what figure has been 'agreed' with the Bees for the Cameroon international.
MEN Sport says: If true, having Mbeumo available for pre-season would be a major boost for Amorim and his coaching staff. The winger’s integration into the squad in the next few weeks before the season starts, would allow him to build chemistry with new teammates, adapt to Amorim’s tactical demands, and hit the ground running when the season begins.
It’s also a welcome relief after what has been a drawn-out transfer saga - one that arguably took longer than necessary to conclude.
Hugo Ekitike update
Newcastle United have reportedly rekindled their interest in Hugo Ekitike, who has also been the subject of interest from United.
have reported that the Magpies' attention has turned to the striker after missing out on signing Joao Pedro, who opted to join Chelsea from Brighton.
It's said the Magpies have already 'informed' Ekitike's representatives of their desire to sign him. The 23-year-old's release clause is reportedly around €100million (£86m).
MEN Sport says: This news could come as a significant blow if Newcastle do follow through on their interest. Between Newcastle and United, Eddie Howe's side may have a slight edge, having secured European football for the upcoming season. United, desperate to strengthen up front after last season's struggles in front of goal, would have viewed Ekitike as a valuable new option for Amorim.
The young attacker would offer something different from but Newcastle’s renewed interest now poses a real threat to any deal.
