Player who Man City have been scouting for ages has now agreed to sign for another club - Romano

After securing the services of Rayan Ait-Nouri, Tijjani Reijnders, Marcus Bettinelli and Rayan Cherki into the transfer window, Manchester City seem to have struck something of a roadblock this summer.

Manchester City have 17 non-homegrown players, which is the most a club can have according to the Premier League and Champions League regulations — which means they must sell first-team players if Pep Guardiola’s side wish to sign Denzel Dumfries aside from other stalwarts.

However, none of Manchester City’s players intend to leave this summer.

As a result, there is a sense of uncertainty surrounding Pep Guardiola’s men and their potentially forthcoming business.

Man City target Killian Sildillia agrees personal terms with PSV Eindhoven

Manchester City have been scouting Killian Sildillia for a while, a player who could potentially come in and replace now-Burnley right-back Kyle Walker.

With Newcastle United refusing to sell Tino Livramento, City have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of a new right-back.

Fabrizio Romano was the bearer of more bad news for Manchester City, reporting that PSV Eindhoven have “reached an agreement” to sign Sildillia on a five-year contract now.

Romano claimed that the Dutch side have bid €3.5 million (£3 million) to sign the Frenchman, however, SC Freiburg are demanding €6 million (£6 million) for him.

However, PSV and Freiburg are in active talks to get a deal over the line for Sildillia as it seems like Manchester City’s interest in the player has cooled — with Dumfries strongly linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium.

Man City’s stance about signing Denzel Dumfries

With Dumfries having a £21.5 million release clause that is active until mid-July, perhaps several Manchester City fans will be prompting the club to sign him as Sildillia could join PSV Eindhoven.

However, Manchester City are uninterested in signing Dumfries, as per club insiders and believe that the links to the Dutchman were always wide off the mark.

The Sky Blues must sign a right-back before the start of the campaign as trusting two midfielders in Matheus Nunes and Rico Lewis to do the job for a full season might be a massive risk.
