Manchester United have been handed a massive blow with Viktor Gyokeres continuing to be determined to secure a move to Arsenal but might have been given a golden opportunity to sign a similar frontman.
Gyokeres has reportedly agreed on personal terms with the Gunners, but they are yet to agree on a deal with Sporting CP. The Portuguese giants want around €70m (£60m) plus €10m (£4.3m) in add-ons.
The Swedish striker was one of United's top targets this summer amid an obvious need for a new number nine. Rasmus Hojlund's poor form in front of goal and the misprofiling of Joshua Zirkzee played significant roles in a dismal 15th-placed finish last season.

Dusan Vlahovic could be the answer for United for several reasons, including age, experience, goalscoring prowess, ability and finances. The Serbian looks set to leave Juventus amid falling out of favour in Turin.
Gianluca Di Marzio claimed this week that Juve are reportedly open to terminating Vlahovic's contract, and he's got his sights set on a move to the Premier League. The 25-year-old wants to test himself in the English top flight and is hopeful that the Red Devils will swoop once he becomes available, per GIVEMESPORT sources.
Vlahovic is alsoprepared to take a wage cut on the £315,000 per week wages he currently earns at the Allianz Stadium. According to GIVEMESPORT sources, he is demanding around £200,000-a-week which fits into the wage structure INEOS have implemented at Old Trafford.
The Serb was one of Europe's hottest commodities when he joined the Old Lady from Fiorentina in January 2022. He'd flourished with 49 goals in 108 games for Viola and many expected him to do so at Juve.

Vlahovic has failed to reach expectations, but his eagerness to prove his worth at United should be an eye-opener for Amorim and his backroom staff. The club want players with the right mentality and with a clear desire to play for the Red Devils amid signing Matheus Cunha and pursuing Bryan Mbeumo.
Gyokeres ticked all the right boxes from a footballing perspective but the 27-year-old would have eaten into the club's budget when Vlahovic is a younger profile. It could prove to be a remarkable piece of business that takes Amorim's up the table with a natural-born goalscorer.
