£13m Striker Keeps Leeds United Waiting – Transfer Decision Delayed

Leeds United have done some decent business since the end of last season as they push towards building a squad to survive in the Premier League next season. However, the club are still waiting to bring in some major players for key positions this summer.

The Whites have brought in four players to increase the depth in their defence and forward line, with former Wolfsburg striker Lukas Nmecha joining the club on a free transfer. The Whites believe they have managed to add real quality to their squad without having to spend big on any one player.

However, Leeds are keeping their powder dry for later in the transfer window, and the club have been backed to splash out on a striker, a number 10 and a top goalkeeper before the end of the window.

But it seems the Whites will do a lot of their business later in the transfer window, as some of their targets are still enjoying their holidays and are unlikely to finalise their decisions soon.

Leeds United target Timothy Wear is in no rush to make a decision

Leeds are among the Premier League clubs, including Everton, who have shown an interest in signing Timothy Weah from Juventus this summer.

The Serie A giants are keen to offload the forward in the ongoing transfer window, and have a willing buyer in Marseille, who have a preliminary £13m deal in place with Juventus.

However, a transfer has not been finalised as Weah is yet to make up his mind about his next club at this stage of the window.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, the American forward is in no hurry to make his decision and will weigh up all his options.

He has switched off for his holidays, and the forward will only decide on his next club once he considers the options following his return.

Marseille have an agreement in place with Juventus, but Leeds are still in play for Weah as the striker has not made up his mind yet.

Leeds will need to take a call on Weah soon

Weah is one of the several strikers on Leeds’ wishlist this summer as they push to bring in a number 9 who can keep them in the Premier League next season.

The American has struggled at Juventus, but is still in demand, given the interest in him from Everton and Marseille. He could be a good option at Leeds if he joins.

However, he is not a big enough name for Leeds to wait for him to decide on his future until later in the transfer window. If they want to sign him, the Whites must put some pressure on him to decide sooner or move on to other targets.
