Manchester United said to be preparing offer after player rejects West Ham

Richard Ríos is drawing interest from the Premier League, but his next move remains uncertain as he prioritises a transfer to Italy.

According to Sky Sports Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, West Ham made an initial approach for the 24-year-old, but the player has already rejected the idea of joining the Hammers.

His preference is to play in Serie A, with Roma reportedly among the clubs keeping an eye on his situation.

But now Manchester United are now also in the race. The Red Devils scouted Ríos during the FIFA Club World Cup, with football director Jason Wilcox and head of recruitment Christopher Vivell sending representatives to watch him live.

Following his strong performances, United are said to be preparing a formal offer worth £26m, including performance-related bonuses.

Palmeiras, however, are holding out for at least £30m to begin talks. They are reluctant to sell, having already turned down initial interest from Nottingham Forest last week.

Ríos has been a key figure for the club since joining in 2023, recording 11 goals and 10 assists in 137 appearances. He also featured for Colombia at the 2024 Copa América.

With the player focused on a move to Italy, any Premier League side will likely face an uphill battle to secure his signing.
