FC Porto signed Samu Aghehowa from Atletico Madrid last summer in something of a rush, after other clubs, including Aston Villa, displayed interest in the forward.
The Portuguese club couldn’t afford to cover the €30m transfer fee, so instead agreed a deal with Los Rojiblancos which would see them pay €15m with Atletico then due 50% of a future transfer fee.
As part of the deal, Porto were able to buy that additional 50%. Porto recently paid €12m for more of the player’s rights and it’s unclear whether they now have 100% of any transfer fee or a little less, with different sources stating different things.
Regardless, [A Bola](http://abola.pt) report that Porto rushed to pay the extra amount because Aston Villa are sniffing around again. It’s claimed multiple clubs are keen, including a few from the Premier League, ‘especially Aston Villa’.
Unai Emery is said to be well aware of the 21-year-old Spaniard’s progress, and Aston Villa interest is thought to be conditioned on an Ollie Watkins exit.
According to A Bola, Porto want €80m, with it stated €70m would be a starting point.
Samu scored 27 goals for Porto last season in 45 matches.
