Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has suffered a hamstring injury after reporting for pre-season.
Onana has responded well to initial treatment and will travel to the USA this month with the squad, but his participation in the Premier League Summer Series has been thrown in doubt.
United will travel across the Atlantic to face West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton in the States. Onana's injury means Altay Bayindir could be the first-choice goalkeeper during the three-game tour.
Onana's future at Old Trafford became a talking point last season and it remains to be seen whether Ruben Amorim now believes it's necessary to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer window.
The Manchester Evening News reported last month that Onana remains intent on staying after a disappointing campaign and will only consider leaving if the club want to sell him.
Onana had been preparing under the assumption he will still be at United for 2025/2026.
The Cameroon international made an impressive start to last season, but his form plummeted and he made high-profile mistakes against Nottingham Forest, Viktoria Plzen and Lyon.
Although Bayindir made 10 appearances last season as Amorim granted him more opportunities, he conceded 18 goals and failed to convince as a second-choice goalkeeper option.
Tom Heaton is the third-choice goalkeeper and recently signed a one-year contract extension.
