Alexander Isak publicly responds to Newcastle United transfer announcement

Anthony Elanga finally joined Newcastle United on Friday following a lengthy transfer saga.

Alexander Isak led the well-wishes from Newcastle United supporters after Anthony Elanga joined Newcastle United.

Following a lengthy transfer saga, the Magpies finally got their first breakthrough of the summer window. Elanga penned a five-year contract and, at £55million, became Newcastle’s second-most-expensive player ever - joint with Sandro Tonali.

He will now link up with compatriot Isak and friend Will Osula, who was spotted alongside him earlier this summer. Before joining Newcastle, Elanga penned an emotional farewell to Nottingham Forest supporters.

Anthony Elanga message to Nottingham Forest

“My Forest family, it’s been real!” an Instagram post read. “From day one, the love has been crazy and I felt it every time I stepped on that pitch. Grateful for the memories, the lessons, and the chance to wear that shirt with pride.

“Big love to my teammates, coaches and all the backroom staff , and to the City Ground faithful… you all made it special. I’ll never forget that feeling of walking out to your energy. Time for the next chapter. But this one? Forever in my heart. Thank you.”

Newcastle United greeting

Elanga was soon being put through his paces at Newcastle’s training ground as he greeted his new fan base. A shorter message on social media read: “I’m a Geordie now! Happy to be here at this great club but, more importantly, I’m ready. Can’t wait to see you all. Let’s get to work!
