Marcus Rashford'rejects'Man United exit as dream transfer timeline set

Manchester United academy graduate Marcus Rashford has informed the club that he wishes to leave in the summer transfer window

Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford has reportedly rejected an approach from an unnamed Saudi Pro League club during the summer transfer window.

Rashford is one of five players who has informed United that he wishes to leave Old Trafford this summer. This decision was made after he was fazed out of the United squad in December last year and eventually loaned to Aston Villa for the remainder of the campaign.

After being informed of Rashford's decision, MEN Sport understands that United allowed the 27-year-old an extended break to explore other options. Despite this, Rashford has been back at Carrington undertaking an individual training regime.

According to Mundo Deportivo, 'powerful' teams in Saudi Arabia have been showing an interest in signing Rashford this summer. One of these teams is thought to have approached the winger with an offer thought to be worth £34.67m to him personally.

But, the winger has rejected the approach as his heart remains set on a move to Barcelona this summer. It is thought that Rashford is keen to get the deal sorted as soon as possible because he is aware of the need to start pre-season quickly with his new club.

Hansi Flick's men head out on their pre-season tour of Asia on July 24 and this is seen as a crucial deadline by which point Rashford wants to be a Catalan player. However, there is less of a rush from Barcelona as they are still preparing their wage structure for the winger's arrival.

Rashford remains keen to lower his salary to make a move to Barcelona possible. It is reported that a loan deal is the most likely resolution with an obligation to buy the forward next summer.
