Sky Sports: Euro giants now prepared to offer five-year deal to sign 'world-class' Liverpool…

Bayern Munich are continuing to pursue Luis Diaz and are reportedly ready to offer the Liverpool winger a four-or five-year contract.

Sky Sport Germany's Florian Plettenberg reports that Diaz is open to leaving Anfield and that he's aware of the Bundesliga club's interest. The Colombian was one of Arne Slot's most-used players last season but could be on the move for the right price.

The 28-year-old has two years remaining on his contract but is "a potential candidate for sale". The Reds have made one attacking signing so far this summer, with Florian Wirtz arriving from Bayer Leverkusen in a £116m deal, but have been linked with one or two wingers.

Liverpool have rejected approaches from Bayern for Diaz but could still sell if their valuation of the Colombia international is met. They are thought to be demanding around £59m-£69m (€70m–80m).

Plettenberg wrote on his X account:

"Bayern are prepared to offer Luis Díaz a contract until 2029 or 2030. Díaz remains willing to leave Liverpool if a suitable offer arrives and is aware of concrete interest from Bayern. At present, however, there is no agreement between Bayern and Díaz and no concrete negotiations between Bayern and Liverpool.

Despite the rejected approaches, Díaz is still considered a potential candidate for sale. Liverpool are said to be expecting a fee of €70–80 million, depending on the buyer (Europe or Saudi Arabia)."

Diaz, dubbed "world-class" by Neil Moxley, had been the subject of a failed approach from Barcelona earlier on in the window, and the Catalans remain interested. Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr have also been linked, and the player has given several hints publicly that a departure could be on the cards.

The former FC Porto man told Win Sports that "we don't know yet" what his future holds and that "we're there talking with management". He's emerged as a target for Bayern following Leroy Sane's move to Galatasaray after the German's contract expired earlier this summer.

Diaz arrived at Anfield in the summer of 2022 in a £49m deal and he's won four major trophies including the Premier League title last season. Should he leave, the Merseyside giants could make a concrete move for Real Madrid's Rodrygo, who is expected to leave the Santiago Bernabeu amid links to the Reds, Arsenal and Chelsea.
