Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald confirmed that, barring anything unexpected, the team plans to keep Wiggins on the roster heading into next season.

The Heat are reportedly intrigued by the potential of their current roster, especially after recently adding star guard Norman Powell.

Miami had trade discussions involving Wiggins with the Los Angeles Lakers, but talks stalled due to the Heat's high asking price.

"I think there's still real opportunity for growth with him as he gets comfortable with us," coach Eric Spoelstra said during the Las Vegas Summer League. "He's already down in Miami right now and will be bringing his family in.

"He's going to be here most of August and September, I think, just to get more acclimated. And I think that's really important for him."

Wiggins is set to earn $28.2 million next season and holds a $30.2 million player option for the 2026–27 season.

The 30-year-old Canadian forward, the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, averaged 18.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists last season with the Golden State Warriors and the Heat.

Over his career, he has played for the Timberwolves, Warriors, and Heat.
