Steve Bruce played for Manchester United and is also known for his managerial career, including spells at Sheffield United and several other clubs.
He joined Manchester United in 1987 and played for the club until 1996.
Danny Webber is a former professional footballer who played for both Sheffield United and Manchester United who came through the Manchester United academy, then played for Sheffield United.

Another later example is Keith Gillespie who played for both Sheffield United and Manchester United during his career.
He joined Sheffield United in 2005 and played there until 2009, including a season in the Premier League.
Gillespie was a product of Manchester United’s youth academy, coming through the ranks with the famous “Class of ’92” and was a teammate of players like David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, and Paul Scholes.
An earlier example is current Red Devils player Harry Maguire who came through the youth system at Sheffield United before graduating to the first team in 2011.
He joined Manchester United in the summer of 2019 from Leicester City for a then-record fee for a defender.
He was also the club captain for several years before Bruno Fernandes took over the captaincy in the summer of 2023.
Now, Sheffield United has signed another former Red Devil player.
Sheffield United has officially announced the signing of Emma Taylor.

She played for Manchester United in 2021, where she was part of a successful Under 21s side alongside current Blade Ella Kinzett.
Taylor, who has played her whole career in the Lancashire, was crowned Rovers’ Player of the Season at the conclusion of the 2024–25 Barclays Women’s Championship season.
