How Alejandro Garnacho has responded to potential Cristiano Ronaldo reunion as Saudi links emerge

Alejandro Garnacho is one of a handful of players that Manchester United are trying to offload this summer.

Manchester United are now a week into pre-season training and Ineos are still yet to sell any of Ruben Amorim’s unwanted players.

Amorim wanted business done quickly this summer, but the transfer team at Old Trafford are finding it increasingly difficult to find new homes for five players.

Alejandro Garnacho seems to have put an end to his United career with his comments after the Europa League final, followed by the controversy of wearing Marcus Rashford’s Aston Villa shirt.

Garnacho has not returned to training as work on finding him a new club continues, and an opportunity emerged for him to potentially reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Alejandro Garnacho rejects Saudi Arabia move

Garnacho idolises Ronaldo and has even copied his iconic celebration on numerous occasions at Old Trafford.

He had the chance to play with the legendary Portuguese forward after his fairytale return to Manchester in 2021, but Ronaldo left for Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr in 2023.

Ronaldo’s new contract gives him transfer power at Al-Nassr, and it seems Garnacho was on the Saudi club’s radar.

However, a report from The Telegraph claims Garnacho has rejected the opportunity to pursue a move to Al-Nassr this summer.

It claims Ronaldo’s side did hold talks with Garnacho about a potential move, but it is now completely off the table.

Alejandro Garnacho prioritising Premier League move

It feels as though Amorim’s decision is final and Garnacho will not play for United again, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be seen at Old Trafford next season.

Garnacho’s priority is to stay in the Premier League and his Saudi rejection is the latest proof of that.

Chelsea have shown interest in Garnacho, but they are yet to reach out and begin talks with United.

The Red Devils have set a £70m asking price for Garnacho this summer, but with Ineos struggling to get any sales done, that figure could easily drop.

Despite basing much of his game around Ronaldo, it seems Garnacho has his heart set on continuing his career in England, even if it won’t be in the red of Manchester United.
