Altay Bayindir’s Agent Holds Talks with Manchester United Over Goalkeeper’s Future

The agent of Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has been at the club’s Carrington training ground this week to discuss the Turkish international’s future, as his client continues to play a secondary role behind André Onana according to Express.

Bayindir, who joined Manchester United from Fenerbahçe in September 2023 for a fee of £4.3 million, has largely been on the sidelines since his arrival.

His representative, Sefa Seyrek, is reportedly eager to clarify the goalkeeper’s standing for the upcoming season, particularly as the Red Devils are still considering bringing in another shot-stopper.

Despite what some might consider a challenging season for first-choice keeper Onana, Bayindir, 27, made just 10 appearances across all competitions last term.

He was not afforded a consistent opportunity to displace the Cameroonian as Ruben Amorim’s preferred option. Bayindir’s last outing for the Turkish national team was a 3-0 defeat to Portugal at Euro 2024.

Adding to the complexity, Bayindir, who reported for pre-season training on Thursday, reportedly turned down several offers from other European clubs in January to remain at Old Trafford.

However, recent inquiries about his situation suggest that interest in his services persists.

While Manchester United would reportedly entertain reasonable offers for Onana, their primary focus in the current transfer window appears to be strengthening the attacking department.

Meanwhile, third-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton secured his place at the club by signing a new one-year contract extension last month.
