More than 30,000 Everton supporters set to get special Hill Dickinson stadium email

Work to lay the Everton Way has been completed and those who purchased them are due to find where their brick lies in early August

More than 30,000 Everton supporters are due to get special emails at the start of August detailing where their part of the club’s new stadium lies. Work to complete the Everton Way, a pathway of commemorative stones bearing tributes to Blues past and present, is “pretty much” complete according to the company tasked with laying out the emotional feature.

The remaining challenge is to draw up maps detailing where each and every brick is so that those who purchased them can locate their slice of history. That process is well underway and emails containing the information are expected to be sent out early next month.

Demand was high when Everton announced the opportunity for supporters to buy personalised bricks as part of the Everton Way.

The feature, which will run across the length of the south stand of the Hill Dickinson Stadium, proved so popular that multiple sales windows were opened to deal with the amount of requests.

In total, 36,000 stones were sold, many bearing family names and personal tributes. Those bricks have been laid beneath a timeline of Everton achievements and around special, larger pieces that are dedicated to the club’s greatest players.

The stones reflecting the success of Howard Kendall and Colin Harvey were shared by Intaglio Creative, the company behind the installation, on Friday night, along with a team photo and an update which said: “That is pretty much a wrap after six months. Howard and Colin looking great in the sun. Location mapping being completed. Expect emails early August. Physical stadium personalisation on a different level.”

The completion of Everton Way comes with preparations for the official opening of the stadium advancing.

The first of four giant club crests that will adorn the stands has been installed, on the wall of the east stand, and naming rights partner Hill Dickinson’s name has been emblazoned on the roof of the waterfront arena.
