Competition for the signature of Johan Bakayoko is ramping up with several European giants vying with Nottingham Forest for the PSV winger.
Bakayoko has emerged as a serious option for Forest as they look to replace Anthony Elanga following his £55m switch to Newcastle.
With just a year remaining on his contract in Eindhoven, a move for the 22-year-old Belgian international is on the cards this summer.
Forest can offer the European football he has been used to as they get set to play in the Europa League, and so that may put them ahead of Bournemouth and Everton in the race.
But the Mirror report that Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Monaco are all interested too, and they may have a greater chance of fighting for trophies, something Bakayoko is said to want from his next club.
In his native Belgium, journalist Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that it is Leverkusen who are the frontrunners for Bakayoko’s signature.
The Bundesliga side, now under the stewardship of Erik ten Hag, are said to have agreed terms on a five-year deal with the winger and with talks ongoing with PSV over a fee in the region of €20m (£17.3m).
Bakayoko has been with PSV since he was 16, graduating through the club’s famed youth ranks to become a first-team star.
Initially brought into the fold by Ruud van Nistelrooy after the sales of Noni Madueke and Cody Gakpo, Bakayoko has developed into one of the best ball-carrying wingers in Europe.
Playing off the right-hand side, he scored 12 goals and provided three assists across all competitions last season.
The year before, he registered 14 of each, and has a total of 33 goals and 22 assists across 131 games in his PSV career.
