'Let's get to work': Anthony Elanga shows Newcastle United how it's done as he releases his own …

Newcastle United finally announced the arrival of Anthony Elanga on Friday night with an odd announcement video, which is dividing the fanbase somewhat.

Elanga's official announcement video showed young Toon fan, Sammy, who got into trouble for skipping school to go and watch Newcastle take on Arsenal, only to end up on TV celebrating.

There are no words at all from Elanga, just a speech by young Sammy, who, to be fair, absolutely nails it.

However, there are some fans who can't see past the fact that there's a message that it's okay to skip school to watch the Toon. In fact, you might even end up being rewarded for it. Perhaps they're looking too much into it, but that message is there nonetheless.

Newcastle's media team need to up their game for the next signing

If you just take it on face value, it's an ok announcement video, but not the greatest we've ever seen, especially from other clubs who get way more creative with it.

Thankfully, whoever runs Anthony Elanga's own social media has come up with a belter on TikTok.

We get to hear Elanga speak about moving to Newcastle, the little clips of him bigging up the club, the pride in pulling on the shirt and his desire to make history at the club.

No notes, Anthony. Not one.

This is how it's done. Top marks to Elanga and his team for putting this one together.

Newcastle have signed players in the past who have said the right things when signing - look no further than Bruno Guimaraes, but something about Elanga is different; he just 'gets it'. He almost sounds like a lifelong fan.

If he can deliver the same level of enthusiasm on the pitch as he has done off it, he's going to be a massive player for Newcastle.
