Released Nottingham Forest defender could get free transfer to neighbours

Harry Toffolo may not have to go far to find his new club with the former Nottingham Forest full-back linked with neighbours Leicester City.

Toffolo’s three years at the City Ground ended this summer with his release at the end of his contract.

He played just seven games in his final year at Forest, finding himself back-up to Neco Williams and Alex Moreno at left-back.

While Moreno has returned to Aston Villa, Williams has signed a new contract, and with potential for 22-year-old Cuiabano to join as competition, the Botafogo man linked with a move to join former team-mates Jair Cunha and Igor Jesus in Nottingham.

Searching for a new home, 29-year-old Toffolo has been linked with Rangers and Norwich, but now recently-relegated Leicester too.

The Sun report that the Foxes will move for Toffolo if they lose Victor Kristiansen this summer.

The Danish international left for Bologna on loan the last time Leicester were relegated, and could depart again following their fall into the Championship.

Just a few days ago, it was said that Toffolo was getting set for a medical at Rangers under their new boss Russell Martin.

But Norwich, the club where Toffolo started his career, have also been named as suitors and would give the left-back another option in England.

Toffolo played 57 games in total during his three years at the City Ground, having initially joined from Huddersfield after the Reds defeated the Terriers in the play-off final.

He had a few stints as a regular starter at left-back during his first two campaigns with the club, but became a bit-part player last term.
