Arsenal have reportedly been monitoring Kaoru Mitoma's situation at Brighton & Hove Albion amid the Japanese winger's representatives pushing for a new bumper deal.
Graeme Bailey of TBR Football reports that the Gunners are considering making an approach for the 28-year-old, who has two years remaining on his contract. He was one of the Seagulls' standout performers last season and has garnered interest from clubs around Europe and the Saudi Pro League.
Mitoma's entourage has informed Brighton that they want a new deal with increased wages that reflect his status at the club and in the Premier League. It is said that there is no urgency to tie him down, which could leave the door open for interested clubs to swoop in.

Arsenal are in the market for new attackers this summer and are closing in on a £52m deal for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke. The Englishman might not be the only wide man to arrive amid the Gunners also reportedly setting their sights on Real Madrid's Rodrygo.
Mitoma is another option amid a fine spell at Brighton, where he's grown into one of the most highly-admired wingers in the English top-flight. He has also received interest from Chelsea, who are also considering making an approach.
Bayern Munich are also in the picture, while the Saudi Pro League is a possible destination should the 27-cap Japan international be on the move. He isn't trying to force an exit, and it seems more likely that he'll remain at the Amex rather than depart.
Mitoma's dribbling abilities have earned rave reviews throughout his time in the Premier League and he's proven to be a success in the top-flight. Journalist Ben Bocsak thinks he's "one of the best one vs one wingers in England".

Mikel Arteta wants a squad that won't be hampered by injury issues next season after the nightmare situation that occurred last season. Injuries to Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz proved disastrous in Arsenal's title challenge.
Another new winger could be required if Leandro Trossard leaves, amid reports that the Belgian is set to move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce. He is thought to have agreed a three-year deal with Jose Mourinho's side and the North Londoners want around £20m.
