It is 16 years to the day Manchester City signed Carlos Tevez from Manchester United.
The Argentine remarkably swapped Old Trafford for the Etihad Stadium on 13th July 2009 in a shock £25m move, going on to score 73 goals in 148 games for the Citizens, winning one Premier League title and one FA Cup.
Even Manchester United players could not believe how much Tevez was earning at the time, as he was given a £150,000-a-week salary, a huge amount in 2009.
Now, there looks set to be another transfer involving the two clubs, as Manchester City plot a late bid for Wesley – a target for Manchester United.
Pep Guardiola tells Manchester City to sign Wesley
Terra in Brazil now claim that Pep Guardiola has requested the signing of Wesley from Flamengo, just as Roma looked to be closing in on a deal for the Brazil international.
The Brazilian news outlet believe Roma have already agreed personal terms on a five-year contract with Roma, after Gian Piero Gasperini also requested his arrival.

However, Guardiola is eager not to miss out on the right-back after selling Kyle Walker to Burnley, and views the South American as an ideal fit for his tactical system at Manchester City.

Hugo Viana – Director of Football at the Etihad Stadium – is expected to make a bid for Wesley soon, with Terra adding that the Brazilian is also wanted by Liverpool as well as Manchester United.
Flamengo want €40m (£35m) for the 21-year-old.
Manchester City fans might disagree with spending £35m on Wesley
Guardiola has been using Matheus Nunes at right-back in the absence of a standout player in that position in recent times, and the Portugal international has seemed to struggle on occasion.
The Manchester City No.27 was particularly shaky in the 2-1 defeat against Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium last season, giving the ball away to Amad Diallo before conceding a penalty to kickstart a late comeback for Ruben Amorim’s side.
However, after watching him continue to play at right-back during the FIFA Club World Cup, Manchester City fans want Guardiola to be patient with Nunes, and keep giving the 26-year-old opportunities.
Therefore, some of these supporters might be left unhappy if Guardiola spends £35m on Wesley, a move which would be likely to see Nunes return to the bench.
