There are a lot of things that you can say about Ruben Amorim’s time at Manchester United but one thing that has been very clear in the last few months that he has been here is that he is not the kind of manager to be pushed around. This has been seen in more than one decision during his tenure.
Amorim almost entirely exiled Marcus Rashford from the first-team matchday squad before loaning him out for the second half of the season, despite that coming at the cost of compromising on quality. The Portuguese tactician also left the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Andre Onana out of the squad on more than one occasion.
Ever since Garnacho’s outburst after the Europa League final, it has been evident that his future won’t be at Old Trafford. Now, as per Telegraph (h/t Manchester Evening News), the Argentinian youngster has rejected the chance to move to Saudi club Al Nassr permanently this summer.

The CR7 factor
It is no secret how big a fan Garnacho is of the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo. The 21-year-old is often seen pulling out classic celebrations of his idol after scoring goals and the duo even spent a brief time together during the Portuguese striker’s second stint at Old Trafford.
Al Nassr are said to have a serious interest in Garnacho with Ronaldo’s presence being used as the convincing factor but the player seems to want to continue in Europe. Despite the significant financial package that the SPL club offered, the youngster intends to compete at the elite level.
Garnacho wants to stay in the PL
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano went one step ahead, confirming Garnacho’s desire to continue in the Premier League, in specific, even though he considers the Manchester United chapter to be over. It remains to be seen what kind of asking price the Red Devils quote for the youngster.
When he was breaking into the first team having made rapid strides in the academy, Garnacho was expected to be the left winger who would define Man Utd’s attack for the better part of the next decade. He started off like he meant business, establishing himself as a key component under Erik ten Hag.
However, over the past 12 months, his development has somewhat stalled, and it hasn’t helped that Amorim and the Argentinian haven’t always seen eye-to-eye. A transfer seems inevitable this summer, but he should court some significant interest. Let’s wait and see how it plays out.
