Patrick Bamford names the one Leeds United player that is 'flying' in pre-season

Incredibly, it is just six days until Leeds United will take on Manchester United in the club’s first pre-season friendly fixture of the summer in Stockholm’s Strawberry Arena.

Leeds returned to pre-season on Monday and after some initial testing, have been put through their paces by Daniel Farke and the German’s coaching staff at Elland Road ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

It is now just over a month until Leeds return to the Premier League and host Everton at Goodison Park, which will be an interesting evening for both the returning Angus Kinnear, and Leeds’ Jack Harrison.

But until then, the Leeds squad will be focusing on getting fit with games against Manchester United, Villarreal and AC Milan ahead of them as well as a trip to Germany to undergo Farke’s training camp.

How has Largie Ramazani coped with Leeds’ pre-season?

If there was one player to pick from the promotion celebrations and the parade for his partying, it was Largie Ramazani. Dancing, showboating and even presenting Patrick Bamford as a guitarist in an Irish bar.

Ramazani and Bamford have struck up a friendship since the £10m winger arrived at Elland Road from Spanish side Almeria last summer. Ramazani is in line to start in Sweden, with Willy Gnonto yet to return.

During an interview posted on LUTV’s channel, commentator Bryn Law asked Ramazani: “Have you been suffering Largie, or are you okay?”, to which Bamford interjected: “He’s been flying, been flying.”

Ramazani continued: “I’m flying right now. It’s still tough, I’m getting there but I just want to be more fit. Adapt, obviously it’s hard but also, continue. The more you get fit now, the easier you start the season.”

Largie Ramazani has an opportunity, but will he take it?

Manor Solomon’s return to Tottenham and Leeds’ focus on defence in the early part of the season means Ramazani is likely to get a chance from the left wing, during the summer. It gives him an opportunity.

This is a player that showed huge talent and glimpses of magic last season, but was also on the end of public criticism from Daniel Farke at times. Injury hampered Ramazani just at the wrong time in 2024.

With fixtures coming up and Leeds yet to bring in attacking reinforcements other than Lukas Nmecha on a free, Ramazani is the obvious choice on the left wing with Gnonto given extended leave this summer.
