Liverpool have reportedly been in contact with Benjamin Sesko's agents after the RB Leipzig striker missed out on a move to Arsenal.
TBR Football reports that Arne Slot's Reds are one of four Premier League clubs that have been kept in the loop regarding Sesko's situation. He was heavily linked with Mikel Arteta's Gunners but they have opted for Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres over the Slovenian frontman.
Arsenal weren't prepared to meet Leipzig's €90m (£78m) asking price, which opened the door for other potential suitors to make their move for the 22-year-old. He has long been touted for a move to the English top-flight amid becoming one of Europe's most highly regarded forwards.

Alexander Isak is Liverpool's top target for the number nine role but Newcastle United are eager to get the Swede tied down to a new deal. Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike is a possible alternative, and there is reportedly a feeling that the Bundesliga club will lower their £86m valuation of the French forward.
Sesko is a different profile to Ekitike, a marksman whose six-foot-five-inch frame has caused all sorts of problems during his time at Red Bull Arena. He has four years left on his contract but a move to the Premier League remains a possibility.

Liverpool have already spent big this summer, bringing Florian Wirtz (£116m), Jeremie Frimpong (£30m) and Milos Kerkez (£40m) to Anfield. They are expected to offload several first-team stars to continue improving Slot's squad, including Darwin Nunez, who has reportedly been the subject of a £47.5m bid from Napoli.
Nunez will need to be replaced if the Uruguayan frontman is to depart, and Sesko, dubbed "elite" by an EFL analyst, appears to be an option. They aren't the only Premier League club that the 41-cap Slovenia international's representatives have contacted.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle have also been alerted to his situation after showing interest in a move to Arsenal. The Merseyside giants may be added by their strong relationship with Leipzig due to recent transfer business that has taken place between the two clubs in recent years.
