Trade market for ex-Celtics guard ‘nonexistent’ (report)

The Miami Heat are trying to trade Terry Rozier, but are finding that to be a difficult task.

The guard’s market is “currently nonexistent” due to his hefty $26.6 million contract, Forbes’ Evan Sidery reported.

“There’s a strong chance Rozier enters the season with Miami,” Sidery posted on X.

Rozier, who spent four seasons with the Boston Celtics, was traded to the Heat during the 2023-24 season. He appeared in 65 games for Miami last year, averaging 10.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

While his numbers last season dipped from previous ones, Rozier has averaged at least 20 points per game three times in his career.

Rozier, 31, would likely help any team looking to add some offense to its lineup. But it doesn’t appear as if anyone is willing to take on the remaining of Rozier’s contract.

Whether he begins the 2025-26 season in Miami remains unknown. But the Heat might have better luck at the trade deadline.
