This Manchester United man has rejected a move away from Old Trafford, with his preference seemingly decided.

Manchester United have a long list of players they are looking to move on after a troublesome season outlined a number of issues at the club.

So far, the Red Devils have only parted ways with those whose contracts have expired. As far as sales go, they are yet to announce any cash exits but we can expect to see several players leave as Ruben Amorim looks to oversee a significant restructure to the side that finished 15th in the Premier League last season.

One of the names at the top of the outbound list is Alejandro Garnacho. Reports earlier this year claimed that Amorim had told the Argentinian he can leave to find a new club this summer.

Alejandro Garnacho Man United exit plan ‘clear’

Garnacho made it pretty clear he wasn’t happy with United’s performances after he branded their 2024/25 season as ‘s***’. Following their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League, the 21-year-old spoke candidly about Amorim’s decision to leave him out of the action for the bulk of the final.

“Obviously it's hard for everyone. Our season was s***. We didn't beat anyone in the league. We lacked a lot of things. When you don't score goals, you always need more.

“Until we reached the [Europa League] final, I played every round. And I played 20 minutes today – I don't know. I'm going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens next.”

Fabrizio Romano posted on social media: “Alejandro Garnacho’s plan remains clear, he wants to continue in Premier League this summer. His chapter at Manchester United is closed but he wants to stay in Premier League.”

Alejandro Garnacho rejects Saudi Arabia

Garnacho hasn’t been short of suitors, with clubs in the Premier League and beyond showing interest in him. However, he is looking to remain in England’s top flight next season and has already knocked back the idea of playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.

According to Telegraph reporter Mike McGrath, Garnacho has rejected an offer to join Al-Nassr.

“Alejandro Garnacho has rejected opportunity to pursue move to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. Cristiano Ronaldo's team had initial discussions to be part of SPL title challenge but 21-year-old to prioritise Europe. MUFC have allowed him to look at moves.”

United had initially been looking to snag £60 million through the sale of Garnacho but The Mirror reported in June that they could accept in the region of £40 million instead.

Following his stunt wearing an Aston Villa shirt with Marcus Rashford’s name on, the club have reinforced their decision to sell the Argentinian. They have lowered their asking price due to the public knowledge of his fallout with Amorim, with rival clubs well aware United want him off the books. Whatever money they do make will be banked as pure profit.
