Despite a down 2024 season from the Patriots, Hunter Henry played well. And while the NFL veteran didn’t make ESPN’s list of top 10 tight ends for 2025, he still received recognition.
“He’s aging well because speed was never his game but he’s just a good player with sure hands,” a league evaluator told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who compiled the list. “Can get you 600 or so yards every year. Takes care of his body, great in the locker room."
Going into his fifth season in New England, Henry is looking forward to teaming up with Josh McDaniels again.
“Working with Josh before, he has a tremendous mind,” Henry said of McDaniels in May. “I learned a lot from him that one year I was with him. So I’m excited to grow with him.”
The two worked together with the Patriots in 2021 — Henry’s first season in New England. And he had great success with 50 receptions and a career-high nine touchdowns.
During the 2024 season, Henry led the team with 66 catches. He added 674 yards and two touchdowns.
Henry has been consistent for the Patriots, even in their down years. Now with McDaniels back in the fold, and more offensive weapons for Drake Maye, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the consistency continue in Henry’s fifth season with the Patriots.
