Chelsea Nicolas Jackson
Manchester United have been looking right, left and center for a new striker. Ruben Amorim needs a new number nine who can regularly score goals for the Red Devils, as Rasmus Hojlund has struggled to do the same over the past couple of seasons.
The Red Devils have been focusing on attacking options since the beginning of the summer, securing Matheus Cunha from Wolves and also looking to sign talented Cameroonian winger Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

Now, as per France Football journalist Nabil Djellit, Man Utd are making a shock move to try and sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, who is expected to be available for a sale this summer. Aston Villa are another club interested in the player.
Ever since moving to West London from Villarreal, Jackson’s performances have been a mixed bag.
His first season left a lot to be desired but he showed significant signs of improvement in the second under Maresca, before dropping off.
The journalist mentions that Jackson could leave Chelsea for £60.5m this summer. That fee is in the middle ground for the player’s ability, as things stand.
The Blues number nine scored just 10 goals in the 2024/25 Premier League and there is a reason why Maresca has brought in Pedro and Delap to improve the striking department.
Man Utd need a clinical finisher
What Man Utd need is a consistent goalscorer on English soil and Nicolas Jackson hasn’t shown enough to stake a claim for that position.
However, if the Red Devils do sign him, he brings pace, physicality and youthful hunger which Ruben Amorim could look to work with.
That said, these are very similar to the attributes that made Man Utd sign Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta a couple of seasons ago.
The only difference would be that Jackson has played in the Premier League for a few seasons now.
With the ex-Villarreal man yet to prove himself as a reliable number nine, he is not the solution for Man Utd’s striker woes.
What they need is an experienced figure who can guarantee goals and it is best they look past Nicolas Jackson, who at this stage is an average finisher at best. Let’s wait and see how it plays out.
