Agent approaches Newcastle United to inform them of availability of £78m striker after Arsenal…

· 13 July 2025, 20:30

**Newcastle United want another top striker to push Alexander Isak next season, with Callum Wilson no longer at the club.**

Part of the issue Newcastle face is that having Isak means that any other striker will know that their game time is likely to be very limited with Isak to be first choice.

As well as that, a striker of the quality Newcastle want isn't going to come cheap.

Hugo Ekitike is back on the radar for Newcastle, but he has a £86m release clause that Eintracht Frankfurt can point to in negotiation,s which, while they may still do a deal for below that asking price, it won't be much lower, you'd imagine.

Benjamin Sesko's agents are on the look out for a Premier League move

Benjamin Sesko has been offered to Newcastle United

---------------------------------------------------

Now, the agents of Benjamin Sesko have been knocking on the doors of Premier League clubs to apprise them of their client's availability after Arsenal moved to sign Viktor Gyokeres instead of the Slovenian.

This is according to [Graeme Bailey, who told TBR Football](https://tbrfootball.com/benjamin-seskos-agents-make-liverpool-move-after-arsenals-decision-to-sign-viktor-gyokeres/) that Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea have all been contacted by Sesko's team.

Newcastle have held an interest in Sesko in the past, and we're sure they'd still like to have the 22-year-old at St James' Park, but part of the reason Arsenal pivoted to Gyokeres was RB Leipzig's insistence on them coughing up £78 million for Sesko.

Newcastle are going to find it hard to find a striker

-----------------------------------------------------

Newcastle aren't going to break their transfer record for a player who won't get in the team ahead of their previous record signing.

Unless Eddie Howe is seriously considering playing two up top, we just don't know how Newcastle are going to pull off this hunt for a top striker.

With Newcastle's involvement in the Champions League, there's a lot more scope, and indeed, need for rotation, so a second striker isn't going to be sat on the bench all season, but they aren't going to get the minutes they'd want if they rate themselves.
