With just over a month left before the 2025/2026 season begins, Manchester City would ideally not like to leave any of their summer business incomplete before the start of the new campaign.
Pep Guardiola may have been surprised at the quickness with which City signed Rayan Cherki, Marcus Bettinelli, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Ait-Nouri as the norm is for summer transfers to take time.
A right-back is Manchester City’s priority signing but their pursuit to sign a replacement for Kyle Walker has not been a simple task.
With Tino Livramento not being for sale despite City’s willingness to secure the Englishman’s services, it looks increasingly unlikely that they will able to sign their dream right-back.

As things stand, Matheus Nunes will be City’s starting right-back come next season.
Pep Guardiola has lauded Nunes and claimed that he would like the Portuguese international to stay, a public request that is especially key as Manchester City have missed out on Sildillia’s signing.

Manchester City could make more signings as it was always up to the Catalan boss to decide whether the squad needs more refreshing based on their displays at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Considering City were knocked out in the Round of 16 by Al Hilal, it seems self-explanatory that they will do everything in their power to bolster their current roster.
