Megan Thee Stallion might soon be a courtside regular at the American Airlines Center.
The Dallas Mavericks might have fallen one game short of making the NBA playoffs this year, but Klay Thompson seems to be enjoying a hot girl summer this offseason.
On Saturday, the Mavericks guard (sort of) hard-launched his relationship with Texas rapper Megan Thee Stallion in an Instagram post.
Last week, speculation that Thompson and the "WAP" rapper were dating began when the latter posted photos of herself poolside with someone who looked a lot like Thompson lounging in the background. Eagle-eyed fans immediately hit the comments, with one commenter writing, "y'all nosy as hell because I never noticed that man in the back."
Then, this weekend, the four-time NBA champion posted a carousel of vacation photos, including two photos that appeared to feature Meg. He didn't include photos that show her face, but the photos tease the company of someone whose pink nails look a lot like the same ones the three-time Grammy winner was rocking in her aforementioned post.
Thompson seemed to confirm the newly public love to his former Golden State Warriors teammate Ty Jerome, who commented, "Woah, hard launch," to which Thompson replied, "I'm all gas no brakes Jerome." Interestingly, though, Thompson and Meg don't follow each other on Instagram.
Thompson signed a three-year, $50 million deal with the Mavericks in 2024 after 13 years (and famously four rings) with Golden State.
Last year, Meg's "Hot Girl Summer" tour earned a sold-out show at Thompson's homecourt of the American Airlines Center during her first stop in Dallas since 2019.
Now that we know she has a big reason to come through the city, we'll take no shame in saying, "Meg, don't wait another five years to see us challenge."
