Manchester United and Ruben Amorim have an important few weeks ahead of them. With the help of Christopher Vivell, the director of recruitment, the Red Devils need to find a way to build a competitive squad and clear out some deadwood.
The Red Devils have already announced the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon, with a move for Bryan Mbuemo nearing completion.

However, there is still a lot of work that the English club need to do, especially in the striker department but also in other areas.
Now, as per Caught Offside, Man Utd are ready to move to sign talented Bayern Munich midfield star Joao Palhinha, who is not having the greatest time in Germany. He is expected to cost between £26m-£30m this summer.
Palhinha still has what it takes to play for Man Utd
Premier League watchers are no strangers to Palhinha, who have seen him shining week in and week out for Fulham before his move to Bayern.
He was known for his aggressiveness, interceptions and control, which made him one of the best midfield destroyers at that time.
Last season, Palhinha featured only 25 times in total for Bayern and started a mere six Bundesliga games, hampered by competition and fitness issues.
His restricted role begs the question as to whether he has fallen out of Vincent Kompany’s plans.
Palhinha, at 30 years old, is still in the prime years of his career, and his injury history over the past season should not deter Man Utd.
His maturity and leadership fit United’s profile for a short-term, adding depth to Ruben Amorim’s squad.
Tottenham are another club interested in signing the player. Man Utd already have Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte as defensive midfielders in the squad, although the latter has been playing further forward in recent times.
In Amorim’s tactical setup, a proper ball-winner is worth his weight in goal and this is where Palhinha perfectly fits the bill for the Red Devils.
It remains to be seen how things play out on the negotiations front in the coming weeks.
