£60m Man Utd star makes Cristiano Ronaldo reunion decision after "initial discussions" - report

Manchester United are likely to make multiple signings over the coming weeks.

The club’s main priority is on strengthening their final third options, having scored only 44 goals in the Premier league last season.

Matheus Cunha has already joined the club while it is reported that Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo could do so by this week.

The Red Devils could pursue a new striker too. For that to happen, they may need to recoup funds from player sales this summer.

Alejandro Garnacho is one of those anticipated to leave but he has rejected the opportunity to reunite with Cristiano Ronald at Al Nassr, according to The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath.

The Saudi Pro League giants had ‘initial discussions’ with Garnacho over a potential move, but the 21-year-old plans to prioritise Europe.

United may have to lower demands for Garnacho

The Argentina international had a solid 2024/25 season with the Red Devils. He made 21 goal contributions from 58 appearances.

However, he had a fall-out with manager Ruben Amorim towards the end of the campaign. Garnacho was only a late substitute in the Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur.

He was also excluded from the matchday squad for the final Premier League game against Aston Villa. Amorim has reportedly told Garnacho to find a new club this summer.

United value their graduate at around £60 million but may have to lower the price tag, considering teams are fully aware of the player’s broken relationship with the head coach.

Al Nassr would have paid the entire fee for a transfer but it is unsurprising that Garnacho has chosen to continue in Europe, considering he has yet to hit the prime of his career.

The attacker has a preference to stay in the Premier League, but United will be hoping that they can find a solution for him abroad. Napoli could review their pursuit for a reduced fee.

United have to speed up Garnacho’s departure if they want to sign a marquee striker in pre-season.
