Latest transfer news and rumours from around the Premier League including updates on Manchester United, Leeds United
Manchester United are in a ‘race’ to sign Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, according to Football Insider. They are being linked with a move for the Nigeria international along with the likes of Everton and Crystal Palace. He could leave the King Power Stadium following the Foxes’ relegation to the Championship.
Ndidi, 28, has been with his current club since joining them from Genk back in 2017. He has since made 303 appearances in all competitions to date and has scored 18 goals. His long-term future is now up in the air amid attention from elsewhere.
The 3AM verdict: Wilfred Ndidi would giveManchester United more competition and depth in the middle of the park. He is experienced and knows the Premier League already. He could be seen by the Red Devils as a safe option to pick from and would provide Ruben Amorim with something different to what he already has at his disposal in that particular position. However, United may need to see off interest from the likes of Everton and Crystal Palace in this pursuit.
Leeds United target Evann Guessand
Leeds United are keen on OGC Nice striker Evann Guessand, as per TBR Football. Sunderland and Brentford are also interested in landing the attacker in this window. The Whites are in the hunt for some new signings following their promotion from the Championship under Daniel Farke.
Guessand has been on the books at Allianz Riviera for his whole career to date. He has been loaned out in the past to Lausanne-Sport and Nantes to get some experience under his belt. The 24-year-old has played 108 games for Nice so far and has scored 21 goals, 13 of which came last season.
The 3AM verdict: Leeds United need to ensure that they get their recruitment right over the next couple of months. The step up to the Premier League is a big one and they must be ready for it. Evan Guessand is someone who has shown he can score goals in France. If he joined the Whites, he would give them more firepower at the top end of the pitch.
Nottingham Forest linked with Mehdi Taremi
Corriere dello Sport claim Nottingham Forest are admirers of Inter Milan forward Mehdi Terami. Fulham and Beskitas have also been mentioned as potential suitors. The player’s long-term future at the San Siro is up in the air at this moment in time.
Terami was snapped up by Inter last year but it remains to be seen whether he will be sticking around for another term. The 32-year-old, who is an Iran international with 94 caps to his name, only scored three goals in 43 outings last term. Prior to his transfer to Serie A, he found the net on 91 occasions in 182 matches for FC Porto.
The 3AM verdict: Mehdi Terami could be a shrewd signing forNottingham Forest if they can get him on the cheap. His switch to Inter Milan hasn’t gone to plan and a change of scene would do him good. He is vastly experienced and would be a useful person to have in and around the dressing room for the Reds.
